Oscar de las Flores
Oscar de las Flores nació en 1974 en el Salvador. Es el fundador de la Asociación Cultural Latino-Canadiense (LCC, por sus siglas en inglés), también conocida como Arte Colectivo la Trinchera, una asociación sin fines de lucro con base en Toronto y cuyo propósito es ofrecer al arte latino y latino-canadiense un espacio permanente en Canadá a través de la convergencia de varias disciplinas artísticas y de la producción continua de eventos artísticos y de exposiciones. Oscar ha sido juez en varios eventos como en el Estudio Abierto para el Comité de Artistas Seleccionados, el Consejo de las Artes Emergentes de Toronto y el Segundo Festival por la Paz y las Artes en Toronto. También ha trabajado como supervisor en la Bienal Internacional de Grabado, organizado por los Estudios Livan, en Toronto. Trabaja y experimenta con múltiples técnicas, como encáustico, tempera, escultura, diseño comercial, capas y medios digitales. Se especializa en grabado, particularmente en aguafuerte y litografía, así como en escultura. Junto con Damián Flores, uno de los artistas mexicanos contemporáneos más reconocidos, desarrolló sus esculturas e impresiones en el 2006. Su trabajo representa problemas sociales actuales, en ocasiones visualmente violento, mezclado con humor negro, cultura popular mexicana y surrealismo. Sus colecciones se pueden encontrar en varias partes del mundo como Francia, México, Puerto Rico, Cuba, El Salvador, Colombia, Taiwan, España, Polonia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Trinidad y Tobago, Estados Unidos y Canadá. Premios y distinciones recientes: Premio del Consejo de la Producción Canadiense obtenido por el Proyecto Halitas (2013), gran viaje a San Francico para ofrecer conferencia en la Galería Paul Mahder en el show intinerante Jucio de Esperanza y Lágrimas (2012), El Premio del Consejo a la Producción Artística de Ontario (2001) y un sobresaliente premio en la Cuarta Bienal de Dibujo Internacional Sylvia Pawa en Mexico.
